Oh - that LAST orbit!

I bet you know the one I'm talking about, too.  That orbit on the one table you forgot to uncheck the "auto-post" feature, so you inadvertently paid the blinds and then decided you'd go around the horn and see all the pockets for "free".  Yeah, THAT orbit.  The one that takes you from +4BB to -4BB for the session....THAT orbit.  Ugh!  Oh well, I burned off 5 BB of bonus at Absolute, so my account balance went up a little.  I'll take the small pyrrhic victories some days.

It's my own fault - playing $2/4 limit O/8.  I have very little experience at the game, but I think I could learn to love it.  Got burnt drawing to that K-high flush, and I flopped two wheels, only to end up splitting the pot both times, but my set of AA held up against 3 opponents, and that hand paid for my night of poker.

Very little trickery at the table in $2/4 O/8.  It's such a value driven game.  That may play to my strength as a player.  I can read the board, evaluate my hand strength, and do quick pot odds computations quite well.  Getting a read on my opponents with 4 tables open is where I struggle.  Much less of an issue in O/8 - you've got it or you don't.  I think I could 8-table that game.  Something i wouldn't dare attempt in Holdem.  Hopefully I'll get some more chances to play limit O/8 in the near future.  I need the practice!

New Blog, New Quest to Celebrate

$1,000 in Poker Bonus Money in April.

I like poker quests.  Maybe it's because I am a poker bonus chasing grinder, and I need something to spice up the action a little.  I have decided that the goal here is to acquire $1,000 in poker bonus money during the month of April.  To do this, I plan to play at least the following:

Sunpoker, Interpoker, Littlewoods Poker, UKBetting Poker, Totalbet Poker, Poker Plex, Will Hill and Absolute Poker.  I have a Poker Stars bonus to work off as well.  I pulled a fat chunk of bankroll out of a sportsbook recently, so I have cash at the ready if a good opportunity arises.

I plan to post updates here, and will discuss some of the finer details with the small, deeply disturbed, yet highly knowledgeable band in the forum.

Still Tweaking the Settings

I am still messing around with and tweaking the settings on this "new blog experiment".  I changed the header color - because I wanted to be sure I knew how.  I didn't like the shade of green it was before - a bit too neon.  Maybe I should go with a deeper shade of green instead of this "steel blue 4".

I also slipped in some small banners for 3 of my favorite sites on the Action Poker Network.  I have played them all, and the chasing is quite good there.  Holdem only, but the action at Action is quite good.  Surprised

I turned on a feature called "authentication" for users leaving comments.  I was getting way too much spam-botting at my original blog, and this is one of the reasons I have opted to change to this blog - or at least experiment with it.  If someone could please leave a comment and then give me feedback on how that feature works, I'd appreciate it.

Played a little NL 6-max last night - a la "circus style".  Made a few bucks!  Guys with 10 X my stack will call with just about any two once they've seen me fold 50 in a row and then push pre-flop.  You'd think it would be just the opposite, but it has not been!

It's Moving Day!

I was getting a bit perturbed by the frequent outages at my other blog.  I was also not very fond of the software or its features.  Therefore, when I was perusing my web-hosting control panel and discovered there was blogging to be had right here at BullsBetting, well - I decided to try it out.  So far, so good!Surprised

If I decide later I liked the other version better, I guess I can confuse everyone and just go back to using it, instead!
