Oh - that LAST orbit!
I bet you know the one I'm talking about, too. That orbit on the one table you forgot to uncheck the "auto-post" feature, so you inadvertently paid the blinds and then decided you'd go around the horn and see all the pockets for "free". Yeah, THAT orbit. The one that takes you from +4BB to -4BB for the session....THAT orbit. Ugh! Oh well, I burned off 5 BB of bonus at Absolute, so my account balance went up a little. I'll take the small pyrrhic victories some days.
It's my own fault - playing $2/4 limit O/8. I have very little experience at the game, but I think I could learn to love it. Got burnt drawing to that K-high flush, and I flopped two wheels, only to end up splitting the pot both times, but my set of AA held up against 3 opponents, and that hand paid for my night of poker.
Very little trickery at the table in $2/4 O/8. It's such a value driven game. That may play to my strength as a player. I can read the board, evaluate my hand strength, and do quick pot odds computations quite well. Getting a read on my opponents with 4 tables open is where I struggle. Much less of an issue in O/8 - you've got it or you don't. I think I could 8-table that game. Something i wouldn't dare attempt in Holdem. Hopefully I'll get some more chances to play limit O/8 in the near future. I need the practice!
