Ho-Hum

Limit poker continues to beat me mercilessly.  Nothing new there, and its probably even more boring to read about than write about.  Two hands that convinced me to stop playing last night (they happened within 2 minutes of each other):

Bull AQo, Villain KK Board AQT T J

Bull J9s, Villain KJo Board 984 T Q

I was at Will Hill $1/2.  Just thought I'd pick off the hourly bonus for the month at a low-risk game.  I dumped about $45 chasing that bonus.

I moved on to a $500 PLO table.  I started just watching, but it looked so beatable, I thought I'd sit in short-stacked and see if i could catch a hand or two.  Lordy that was juicy!  There were several players that were clueless, but I just could not get my hand.  Two of the fish were busted in 3 orbits, so when they left the table, I did too.  It seemed silly to sit there short-stacked when the table got harder to beat.

I played a few orbits at Absolute's $2/4 limit O/8.  Flopped a set of aces twice, and that cost me about $50 when they failed to be the high hand at showdown.  When it rains, it pours, eh?

Had enough of poker and moved on to casinos.  I had it in my head to play blackjack at Will Hill, Littlewoods, UKBetting and Intercasino, stopping when I was up or down $20 at each.  + $24 at Will Hill.  + $30 at Littlewoods.  I only had $19 in my account at Intercasino.  I ran it up to $65, but got a wild hair to let it ride, and went bust.  Started crappy at UKBetting.  Playing £1 per hand, 5 hands at a time I took some crazy 21s from the dealer.  Started Martingaling and doubled to £2 per hand, lost - £5, lost - £10, lost - £25 X 5 hands, dealer busts.  I was up £55 and my senses returned, so I quit.  Better to be lucky than smart.  Always.

I should probably point out that I have plenty of bankroll to be stupid with like that.  I whine and moan about my poker slump - and believe me, its painful - but I am in no danger of financial ruin, or even bankroll ruin.  I have about $11K in my gambling roll right now, so while dumping 25BB at a $1/2 table is irritating, it's laughably unremarkable to my bankroll.  I am excessively cheap and cautious for a persistent gambler.  Surprised  (My foray into blackjack not withstanding!)
